Mass Effect 3 manicure!

Let me put down the controller for a second and share with you a single photo of the manicure I did to celebrate the launch of my most anticipated game of the year... Mass Effect 3!

For this manicure I used Zoya Burke, Essie Licorice and Sinful Colors Snow Me White. It was inspired by the armor the game's protagonist wears:

Commander Shepard!
I wanted to do faux-carbon fiber by painting over tulle mesh, but alas, I don't have a metallic dark grey! It's alright, I love it anyways! Sorry for such a short post, I promise to update properly very soon. In closing, let me share with you a photo I took while cradling my Mass Effect 1-3 collector's editions while making a legit crazy face :D

I'm so excited XD

Valentines Manicure Part 2: Featuring Sally Hansen Nail Prisms

If you were to just look at this manicure, you'd never guess it had a Valentines Day theme at all. I like that about it. My boyfriend and I weren't able to do anything special today because we both work and have vastly different schedules, but Sunday we made dinner, hung out and watched The Walking Dead, which is when I was wore this. What makes this a Valentines manicure? Well, let me show you!

For this manicure I used one coat of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms in Amber Ruby layered over two coats of Sephora by OPI I'm With Brad. Some of you may know that my name happens to be Amber, a couple of you might even know that my boyfriend's name is Brad! I thought I was pretty clever with this Valentines manicure, lol! I specifically bought SOPI I'm With Brad just because of it's name, but it's a very pretty polish as well. I'm With Brad is a vampy blackened red shimmer which, thanks to the overcast skies here, you can't really appreciate. It was the perfect polish to layer Amber Ruby over. Amber Ruby is a fantastic gold to red duochrome from Sally Hansen's discontinued Nail Prisms line. I was recently given this polish by my friend Leeana who thought I needed a polish with my name in it :)

I hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day and as always, thanks for looking!

Valentines Manicure Part 1: Cute Hearts

Hey guys! I hope your day is going well :) I have two Valentines manicures to share with you today! For this manicure, I wanted to do something that was fun. I didn't want to do anything pink and red, but something you could still tell was meant for today. This is what I came up with to wear to work!

I used two coats of Essie Curtain Call for my base then somehow managed to make dainty little hearts with just the polish brushes! Internet high five for me! The blue hearts are a base of Orly Pretty Peacock topped with China Glaze Blue Years Eve, the pink hearts are a base of Essie Super Bossa Nova topped with Milani Raspberry Fusion.

blurred for your protection ;)

Stay tuned for Part 2 coming up soon! :D

Silver Cap Sunday: Halfmoon Mani with CG 2NITE + Let's Do It In 3D

Hurrrrrrrromg! There's not much I need to say about this manicure other than I absolutely love it! China Glaze's holographic polishes still blow me away every time I put one on. If I had to pick favorites out of my collection, these two would end up in the top three. Prepare yourself for a lot of photos!

CG Let's Do It In 3D and 2NITE
Whew! That was a lot of holo! Have you been lucky enough to own any of China Glaze's holographic polishes? What are your favorites?

A new post on AYBC?! Zoya Dove + Butter London Rosie Lee

OH HELLO THERE! :D I *think* I'm back! For real! Maybe! Haha, anyways, hi! I've missed posting here, but my nails have been a wreck and I just haven't had the oomph to post either, so what can ya do? Well, I'm here now, most of my nails are almost back to normal (my cuticles are still excessively dry) and I have the desire to take photos and post them! I did hack my right thumb up pretty good at work last week though (if you're curious, you can see a photo here) so I'll be doing my best to hide it in my photos, but if you notice an unpainted/gnarly looking portion of nail hanging out, I apologize in advance :)

Today I'd like to share with you a tape manifail I did last night.

I got the idea for this manicure from a photo I saw on Pinterest. I was able to track down the source to Pshiiit.com, a French nail polish fan's blog. I didn't have Essie Sand Tropez or anything like it, so I chose to use something more neutral than nude for my base, Zoya Dove. It didn't turn out quiet right, the triangles are a little too pointy and my edges smeared a bit, but I'll live :) My right (non-photographing) hand turned out much better.

Hopefully you'll be seeing more from me soon! Thanks for looking :)

P.S. What do you think of the new layout?

Long time no blog w/ Essie Trophy Wife

Oh hai thar! Sorry for my unscheduled hiatus, I have been very busy with work, attempting to secure a second job and spending time with my friend Winifred who is currently recovering from a broken hip in a nursing/rehab center. Also videogames, ngl. I would have loved to have finished my 13 Days of Nailoween, but I have to admit it was a bit ambitious as October is always busy at work, and that wasn't even the half of it! I did take pictures of a couple manicures that I didn't have time to crop/upload/post, so maybe you'll see some seasonally inappropriate manis here in the near future, if not, there's always next year! :)

Enough chit chat though, let me show you something I wore recently!

I originally fell in love with Essie's Trophy Wife when I caught my friend Sharon sporting it. I don't normally dig frosty polishes, but Trophy Wife is definitely an exception! It's a gorgeous teal frost that is rich with a lot of depth. It's a color that I imagine looks well on arm candy by way of a skin tight silk cocktail dress. If fact, I wore it to a work party to match my favorite not-so-silky-or-skin-tight cocktail dress (no pics of that, sorry! lol) XD Blah blah blah, here's more pictures!

The next day, I wanted to jazz it up a little bit, so I added Love & Beauty Light Green (same as L.A. Girl Rock Star Crowd Surfing) which is a sheer spring/seafoam green shimmer with orange-to-green flakies.

As always, thanks for reading :)

13 Days of Nailoween: Halloween Dots

Holy balls, it has been a loooong day. Let's just pretend I didn't just get home, having left the house this morning before noon. Ugh. I so tired! Anyways, since we're pretending again, go ahead and pretend I'm posting this on Friday proper, okay?

I did this manicure late Thursday night (well, Friday morning technically) before bed, so I have some shrinkage from good ol' SV going on. At first I just had the diagonal colored bits, but it looked a little Mardi Gras, so I added the dots. I'm glad I did.

For this manicure I used Essie Licorice, Zoya Julieanne, Apple and Tangy. That's all you need to know right? I'm so tired, haha ;_;
